We believe in the Power of the Arts. That is why The Power of the Arts supports initiatives and institutions that use culture to promote an open society.

The Power of the Arts is an initiative of Philip Morris GmbH and has been awarding projects with a total funding of 200,000 euros annually since 2017, which use culture to promote social and cultural equality and break down barriers to promote the understanding of all people.

With the funding, The Power of the Arts supports professional and social participation as well as educational opportunities and strengthens economic opportunities in Germany. Projects and initiatives from the fields of music, theater, art, dance, literature, architecture, film and applied arts are being addressed.

An independent jury comprised of prominent figures from art, culture, and science selects the awardee projects.

All award-winning projects of the respective competition year will be honored at a festive event in Berlin.
